I'm putting a shallow (48x24x12) tank, and I'm looking for lighting options. It has to be reasonably powerful for clams and SP's, and I would prefer it to be led. It is just a display for me next to my sump in the fish room, so it doesn't necessarily need to be new or pretty, and the max cost is around $500.

If I could find a couple of used kessil A350W's cheap that would probably fit the bill, but I haven't seen any in a while.

Any thoughts on new or used LEDs that would fit the bill?

Still a bit leery about the "not burning - my - house - down" aspect of nameless Chinese led imports, but I shall take a look.

I would go with two Kessils over that tank

I was too but there are plenty out there now. Think about it, About everything comes from China anymore anyway.

Maxspect 27 Inch Razor R420R

I have been really happy with mine, and with that shallow of a tank you could hang it up around 12 inches above the water and get plenty of spread with good penetration all around. $509 at marinedepot
