Hello, just drained my 65 gallon freshwater tank and am about to take the plunge and convert to a saltie. I want to use as much of my existing setup as possible, and need a bit of guidance about spray heads versus spray bars. I currently have a spray bar, but is this good enough for a saltwater tank? I'm not getting any corals to start with, just the live rock and fish; don't want to try and run before I can walk! Any thoughts?

I don't use either in my display tank. The skimmer aerates the water a lot along with surface agitation from my return pump and wave maker. Micro bubbles in a display are annoying. In my quarantine tank I use a power head for a little aeration. I hope this helps, as I am somewhat new here too.

I would use the spray bar as it will create some surface agitation....

OK, thanks for that. I don't have a sump unfortunately (mickey mouse setup with an external pump unit). I'll just stick with the spray bar for now! Thanks again.
