View Full Version : 50w heaters that reliably turn off at desired temp?

Having a hard time finding a 50w that reliably turns off at the desired temp.

I've taken back 2 so far for saying they would but they did not.

Would love tried and true recommendations please.

Honestly I think all the heaters are not that reliable. If you've got the cash, an aquarium controller will do a better job, and help save you when the heater inevitably fails. This usually happens in the on position. The controllers have a temp probe that can be easily recalibrated as well.
I think the new flat plastic heaters are a little better at this. I forget the name.

I agree when using a heater you should always have it with a controller. I myself love the ranco temp controller, very reliable.
