We have a 29 gallon biocube that has a sand bottom with a tiger goby and we love him!! We get lots of enjoyment watching him. We also have a 90 gallon that we are converting to a full reef tank. My question is, the 90 has a crushed coral substrate at the bottom. Are there certain gobys that do better in a crushed coral or are they primarily made for sand so they can sift through it? Thanks in advance.

clown gobies will be fine (black, citrinis, green, yellow), court jester gobies, neon gobies, and there are probalby others. None of the watchman or shrimp gobies will do very well. they like sand. definitely not a sand sifter. hector's goby and similar will do ok. really anything that doesnt like to sit on the sand will be fine.
