My tank has been blacked out and left fallow for 9 weeks because of ich and has had nothing in it except snails. Today I turned the light back on to clean the glass and I found this and got worried.

What is this white thread stuff spreading? Bad?

And what about this nasty little insect thingy?

Hope they aren't bad. Ty.

The first looks like some sponge growth. The second is a harmless munnid isopods. You also have some spirorbid worms on the glass.

Spirorbid worms? Are those the ones with that spit out white thread that look like cobwebs all over my tank?

So everything is harmless? Thank you! :) Back to cleaning

Yes. All harmless. The spirobids are the little white spirals on the glass with a red duster head.

The first picture might be Bryozoans.

That would be vermetid snails that shoot a web.

Cloak, I wasn't sure about bryozoans. Mine don't grow on the glass. Rock work only.
