I'm considering adding a hoeven's wrasse to my 150 gallon reef to control pests. My tank has about 200 lbs live rock and another 20 in the refugium. I also have a 3" sand bed. Will the hoeven's outcompete my mandarin's for food or do you think there should be enough to go around? There's nothing else that eats pods currently in the tank.

*also I should note that I've never noticed my mandarins eating prepared foods.

It's a bit of a risk, imo, but probably small enough to gamble on.

The wrasse will pick at pods, but in that size tank and with the refugium there should be enough to go around as long as the tank is mature enough.
