I am thinking about getting a saltwater tank (around 90-100 gallons). Any advice for beginners? These are the critters I'm interested in:
- lionfish
- snowflake morays
- scarlet reef hermit crabs
- zebra dwarf hermit crabs
- nassarius snails
- nerite snails
- brittle sea stars
- pincushion urchins
- tuxedo urchins
I also want lots of live rock. Which of these creatures would go best in an aquarium? Any other suggestions?

Read the stickys at the top...and QT everything....I would say no on the lion..There is a thread that you can post what you would like to get and they will give you their opinion on it. ....oh and go slow...trust me

and welcome .... make sure you do some research before doing anything to your tank.

Start w/ good water, good lighting, LOTs of patience, and read, read, read. Learning some basic biology, chemistry, and ecology will help a lot.

The snowflake eel eats crustaceans so those will be food in the take as you've described it.

Thanks everyone! I think I'm gonna scratch the hermit crab idea, seems like they'd almost certainly end up as dinner for the eel.
