270 watts of lighting for a 10 foot tank that is awesome.

Sure would I would love o switch I like the output of the Kessil but I have another thread and everyone has said you would need 1 every 2' to support SPS down in my 7'x3' tank.

sounds about right they do advertise the coverage as 24 inches. pretty standard though when I think radion also advertises 24". Gets a little pricey when you have a big tank.

Very nice! How far off the water line do you have them mounted?

Nice but without PAR Readings that doesn't tell you all that much. Sure, if you hang any light high enough they should give you at least a 3 ft spread.

It looks pretty bright though.

This guy is on my local reef club. Tank is brand new and still in the fish stocking phase. He's adding one more kessil to make it 4 total.

Are those wide versions? I ask because it seems that you would have very little PAR running that high above your tank. I only have a 24" tank and feel I need 2 A360WE's to get proper coverage

These are the A360W Wides yes.. I haven't checked par yet but by noon I have then running at 100%. So far I haven't seen anything that has made my corals look dual or brown

Ive always been a huge fan of the kessil shimmer.

I saw some at my lfs last week... thought I was going to have a seizure right there in the store. :fun5:

The shimmer of a single-point light source is, in my opinion, quite enjoyable. It breaths another layer of realism into the aquarium.

That said, it's all about fiddling around with the return nozzle positions to increase or decrease the amount of surface agitation. I find that if I increase the surface agitation 'too high', the shimmer can become somewhat disorienting.

Overall I am very pleased with my Kessils although I am still debating adding another lighting technology into the mix.
