I want my tank to be purple/pinkish like tanks with super actinic t5's but using LEDs. I have a full spectrum D120 and swapped out 8 cool white LEDs with 420nm LEDs from reefbreeders but the light output on them is not a whole lot. I'm sure it will help coral growth a lot though. So this fixture has 12 420nm LEDs now, but it's not purple enough for me.

I could swap out some of the royal blues for 420nm but I am not sure that's going to do much since the 420nms are not visibly bright.

The ecoxotic stunner strips look nice, but adding them will ruin the clean look of the hanging fixture. What LEDs do they use in their magenta strip?

Add some reds that will look purple along with much heavier blue.

No red, get some "uv" LEDs from rapid, or from reefbreeders. They aren't actually UV but a very deep violet, use 2:1 ratio with royal blue and you'll get the look you want. Remember that the UV can only be run at 700mA max, so you may want then on their own driver.

Check out the Build My LED super actinic and/or UV setups.

We did some testing a few years ago with what I believe is now the super actinic and the green and oranges just freaking glow. Here's a link to my post: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2232424

Just get some hydra 52s or radion pro LEDs and be amazed
