My hydnophora has recently started to slough away and expose the skeleton. I have had for about 5-6 weeks. The tank is relatively stable (34G) and I do about 5 gallon changes once a week.
It currently sits at the top of the tank on a frag rack due to some hostility with a blue stylo (the stylo lost).

Other corals in the tank are doing well and growing. Duncans are growing heads, Monit cap and setosa are growing and plating nicely. All the softies are flourishing as well. Just the hydnophora not doing so well lately. It does have good polyp extension, but I have lost about .25" to .5" off the bottom and lower edges. The lowest part has completely sloughed off with in the past 2-3 days.

Lighting is a Radion @ 45% intensity, natural light cycles with moonlighting for about 4 hours after sunset.

Tank parameters:
dkh: 7.6-7.8
Ph: 8.0-8.2
Ammonia: 0
PO4: barely any but just enough to register
temp: 80
S.G.: 1.026-1.027
Ca: 450ppm
using Chaeto and rubble rock for organic waste removal

I've only noticed within the past few days. Any ideas?

Have you target fed it anything lately?

I have had one going well for the past 2 years and now and then some areas of polyp seem to die or get sick, sometimes exposing the skeleton but it always recovers and grows back. No idea why but overall it is happy and healthy.

I have not targeted, but I do a broadcast of either Phytofeast or OysterFeast.
