I've noticed this black dot on my monti for a while now but just recently I noticed that it moves when I get too close. it also seems to have 2 antennas or something. can someone tell me what this is?

Looks like a Vermetid snail to me. Not good guys, but won't do any real damage. And unfortunately, not much you can do. But if you don't have many of them, put some coral bond (that purple stuff that attached frags to rocks) over the hole.

I just let my SPS grow over them like yours is doing.

Wait for other people to chime in, in case anyone disagrees that this is a vermetid.

Thanks for the conformation. I have some super thick cyanoacrylate glue to cover it with

Also, will their little spider wed harm my monti?

I had one in a monti before and I put glue over the hole and it just popped up thorough a new hole. They just cast ugly webs over your coral. Should do too much damage to the monti but they look ugly.

Thanks for the help. turns out I have a bunch of these guys all over the rock that I thought were feather dusters.
