So I bought a heniochus about a month ago off line. He arrived super healthy then a couple white spots looking like sand started to appear. I moved him to my 50 gal quarantine tank and slowly started dropping the salinity from .25 down to now currently .08 (using a refractorometer). It has been at .08 2 weeks going on three starting tomorrow. The banner fish itself has an extremely healthy appetite and even gets fussy if I do not feed it at least 3 times a day. The problem is the 2 original spots just keep getting bigger and bigger. They do not seem to bother the fish and it doesn't scratch or rub against anything but I am a bit worried that the spots are not disappearing. Anyone have any thoughts or advice?
Thanks

Sounds like lymphocystis not crypto. Try to upload a photo of those spots.

Exactly. Cryptocaryon irritans spots do not get larger. In fact they "periodically fall off".

if you aren't already, try soaking his food in selcon and/or vita-chem. i have a kole tang that went through a bout of lympho and the supplements helped clear it up in no time.

So do you think I should go ahead and raise the salinity back to a normal level? Currently he has one big spot on his side fin and small almost non existent on the tail fin. Pics will come in a few.

Yes i know the tank looks a little dirty I have been staying out of it to keep stress down but the water perameters are perfect. Also how do we treat?http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=285806&stc=1&d=1406501863
