Hi all-

Could you take a look at these photos and tell me what you think this is? Is it some sort of worm?

It is approximately 3 to 5 mm long. I tried poking it and it feels as if it may have a flat hardshell but I'm unsure. It could just be that it is very thin and I was feeling the rock behind it when I was poking it.

I am certain it is not a stomatella. It moves sort of funny. In other words it has no easily identifiable head. It is capable of moving in all directions. Also note it is slightly boomerang shaped. It is brown to brown gray in color and has some irregular speckles on its back.

Thanks for your help. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/30/evamu9ag.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/30/qamuhyjy.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/07/30/9ygedeve.jpg

Ok. I think it may be a chiton....but I can't make out the segments and the size does not fit this description. Perhaps a juvenile??

Looks like an asterina star to me. Took me a few looks to find it in the pics.

The pictures are nice and clear, I just wasn't looking the right place to start.

It could possibly be that star! That would explain the boomerang shape. Although it is missing three arms assuming they have five arms to begin with. It would also explain the fact that it can move in any direction.

In my experience, it is pretty typical for them to be missing arms.
