Yeah a little high for such a little guy, but then again males that are 6-7" sell for 6-700$ all in the eye of the beholder I suppose.

No, its not that. I love that fish & when I upgrade, Im building my tank around that guy. I dont have issue w $pending alil on what we want. It's just that I cant fathom how a tank bred can go for so much more than wild caught... like I get it w some of the cheaper fish, but w pricey fish, I think they're just milking it. Way to help the hobby. As much as I love Scribbed and rather have Tank bred, Id rather have a WC scribbed an expensive wrasse for the same price.

Wow... have you ever tried raising a baby angelfish before? It takes a TON of work... this animal is worth the price tag. And I can tell you this price is more than reasonable... I saw the wholesale price.

Im sure it is, but its not they're only raising one. And is raising a scribled any more work than raising a clarion or bandit? Because those have even more ridiculous price, you mean to tell me that its because of the harder work w those too. Im not doubting that its alot of work and that they should get what they put in and some more, but it seems to me they look at the market price and go from there.

It is also about risk of investment, time involved to get them to spawn, system setup and maintenance, how many eggs they can actually collect, etc. To think that we can't support such a small amount of money for an animal this special is pretty ridiculous. An inbred clownfish with a color defect can go for much much more than these fish and can be mass produced much easier.

+1. That price is definitely CHEAP for what it represents.

How cheap are you finding wild caught ones for? And where? NYA has some of the cheapest prices around, and their small (2-3") scribbleds are $290 last I checked...
