Hmmm. I usually don't like "drop" reefs, but I like what you did with the scape in this one. Should be pretty cool as it grows out.

what kind of glue is that holding the rock together? is it just regular saltwater epoxy? nice tank btw

Hi Magpie, its just milliput the rock was dry and I heated the milliput in the microwave. Heating it for 10sec helps mix and seems to speed up the setting time
I done the scape over 3 days to allow the putty to cure

I just learned about this tanks from talking to someone at my LFS yesterday. After speaking with him I thought they sounded awesome.

After seeing yours, it confirms how awesome it is. That looks great!

I have had a terrible time with a tang I bought, A kole tang

After two days of putting him/her in the tank I noticed a few odd looking marks.
So I bought a ozone unit to see if it would help, The Ozone did help and the fish looked good again.
I added two beautiful clowns

I was advised to turn the ozone unit off as I had no controller for it, I had just set it on a quarter turn.
Within two days of turning the ozone off the tang was dead, Then the clowns :(
That was 4 weeks ago, Not sure what to do about fish now?
I loved the fish and sulked like a big child for a week or two, The tang was the first tang I have ever kept and it was a beautiful fish, I want to add another but i'm a little worried about adding another.

Sorry to hear about your losses. I do not quarantine either and it is always a risk you take. I believe ozone mostly helps keep your water clear and clean, but an ultraviolet light filter (uv sterilizer) helps a lot with parasitic diseases. I have successfully run low continuous dosing of ozone on a large system without monitoring, but suspect your system has a much smaller effective and not toxic window. The uv sterilizer will not become toxic and is the only legit option to fight diseases in a reef tank besides strict quarantine.
Good luck for the future and take it slow! Your tank has a great start and will continue to become more beautiful as the corals grow in!

I have never had issues with not quarantining before, But I have never kept a tang before.
The Ozone is off line now, I have recently added two tangs a yellow and another kole, both are small and have no issue's.
I have kept the ozone unit on hand and now have a orp controller if needed.

Thank you, the Tank has only been running since August.......
I have some cheato in my sump which is reverse lit, A deltec sc 1455 and rowa in a reactor.
I done some test's the other day, P04 0.03 N03 0 on Elos kit,
I'm collecting a few fish soon so hopefully the n03 raises a little

The tank and stand was built by Jay@Ocean Displays.
I sent him my drawings and he carried out the work. I must say that his work is fantastic.
The price was fantastic too :)

Yes lol, The tangs poop is beneficial lol, nose diving clowns into fine grade sand and clearing it to the glass isn't lol

Hi buddy, I do not own a Jaboa doser?
I was using a ghl until my skimmer soaked it and ruined the board, I am now using a Fauna Marin. The ghl pump heads can be used if needed as spares.

Thank you buddy, I agree although I have a fish trap on the sand at the moment!
I noticed aiptasia popping up, It's my fault for not removing a few that where on some acans from my previous tank.
So I took the decision to buy a small copper band, I have tried peppermint shrimps in the past and had no luck with them.
Berghia was a no go as the wrasse would of ate them straight away.
So it was either a file fish or the copper band.
The tangs instantly took a dislike to the CB, So I put the trap in as the mirror at the back keeps the tangs occupied for ages.
I woke this morning to find the CB swimming around with out a care in the world and the yellow,Kole, male mandarin and the male lineatus all swimming inside the trap!
The trap has been in the tank since Friday, I am going to remove it today to see how things go.
I can always add it again if the aggression starts again.

No sadly, the ironic thing is he/she settled in really well.
After 1 week I could not see 1 aiptasia too.
It was after a day trip out and coming home to a tank with sulking lps.
I work nights so at home all day keeping the food flowing, this particular day I hadn't feed over the day.
I watched him within 5 minutes of sitting down chomp on acan polyps.
That was it as far as I was concerned. The trap was in the tank and the cb was in it within 5 minutes.
I was sad to let him go as he was eating and very confident.
But it was unfair to keep him in the tank,
