So I have the tank and just waiting for some schedule 40 elbows before the plumbing can be done to the sump. My question is can I fill the tank before going over the overflow? I looked at the overflow and it seems to be water tight which it should be, right. Here's the pic of the tank. Its new and has never seen water. My goal was to just get ro/di water going since the process is long with a 75 GPD system. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks

Yes you can, but make sure to put a power head near the surface to agitate the water (if it's going to set for a while).

For sure., thanks for the reply. I'll be mixing in the salt so heaters will be in there also. Anyone else want to chime in if this is do able?

To heck with filling the display. With your top-of-the-tank to the bottom overflows that's where the leaks would be. Scoop some water from the main display into those overflows and let that sit for 2-4 days while inspecting the sump area for leaks from the tank.

I'm not understanding what your saying? If your implying checking the bulk heads I have two pipes in each overflow with at least an inch of water. No leaks. I just want to see if I can fill the display since the overflows look liked their sealed. I'd actually only fill it maybe 3/4 of the tank. Again tank has never seen water if your implying for checking leaks. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding your answer.

Go ahead and fill it. Just verify (after filling) the water level is not rising in the overflow boxes.
