So I moved and downsized to a temp tank and I. The process I managed to kill all my corals. :-( I checked all my levels and they were would they should be but my tank is green and the bigger corals are letting out smoke type stuff. Pulled the corals this morning but I'm sure I lost them all. Moving tanks sucks.

Sorry to hear it man. I lost a lot of my stuff in my last move too, it sucks. It sounds like you had some kind of algae bloom.

Thats rough, sorry to hear. Would you be able to outline your process with details? Might be able to figure out what it was that casued this and can help everyone out in the future! I've moved/downsized/upsized tons of tanks over the years and never had anything like that happen, so very interested....

Did the live rock sit in the dark for an extended period of time between the moves? How was your water temp during the moves? What kind of water did you use?

I moved my [algae-filled] tank from CT to MA a few months ago, and no issues. I even had one of my RBTA's *out of the water* for an hour during the drive because it absolutely refused to let go. "Fine, I have plenty, be that way." I stopped at the CT/MA border and splashed it with water in the bottom of the tank (unheated and yucky, but it was saltwater). Got it all together that night and although it didn't look good, it survived. And split due to the stress, but both halves are in great shape. And now I'm up to *eight* RTBA's. Might be soon time to cull the herd, especially since my clowns do not host in them.

Algae-filled because it was in CT being cared for in my absence and I was not expecting it to be there so long. But the caretaker took care of the clowns, which was the most important thing. Still battling algae and excess detritus, but such is life.

I had put all my livestock and water in 55 gal tubs and but them in my trunk for about 45 mins to my new place then rebuilt my new tank until I get the one I want. But it's crystal clear now. 286877286878
