I recently started topping off with a hypo-saline solution of 1.013 in combination with a daily automatic water change. The result keeps my aquarium staying at 1.025. Can you add Kalk to this solution to be added as part of the top off?

Thanks

You can't add kalk to that.

Why would you be topping off with salt water?

Top off with 1.013 plus change out one gal 1.025 with one gal of 1.013 equals 1.025. So any salinity at all messes up the kalk.

Yes, the Kalk will cause a lot of precipitation even in dilute saltwater.

Top off with 1.013 plus change out one gal 1.025 with one gal of 1.013 equals 1.025. So any salinity at all messes up the kalk.

This is only true if you evaporate the same volume as you water change. Why not just do a water change with full salinity water and top off with rodi or kalk? That way you avoid the problem entirely.
