Looking at starting a second reef tank, and I really want to use a Kessil. LFS has a good deal on a 27 cube, i think its 20x20x18. Would a single A150W work for this tank or should I get a 350/360?

I had a 27 cube tank 20 x 20 x 18. I bought a 150 ocean blue and was disappointed. I never liked the color or the spread. To me it was not enough light. Many like the 150 for the cube and have good results. I however used it for 3 months sold it and went with a AI sol blue. More expensive yes. I would look into the bigger Kessils.

A pair of A150s would be great or a single A350W. Either set up will give you enough light to LPS and lesser demanding SPS.

A single a150 will give you a good amount of light in the tank. And coverage shouldn't be an issue as long as you get an a150W (wide angle) coverage is 24". You may not like the lack of adjustments available though. On the 150 the spectrum you get is all you get, I have a10k sky Blu and
Looking to supplement with some actinic stunner strips.

why not get a360w then you have controlability and if you upgrade you're covered

The 360n surface spread is 18" the 360W is 24". You would want/need the 360 more than likely for best overall coverage.

The following is off of kessil product info...

A360N: 18" surface diameter by 4' to 5' penetration
(on average)
A360W: 24" surface diameter by 3' penetration
(on average)

i got a 360we to go over an established marineland 27 cube ~2-3 months ago. i do really like it, but coming from 250w de phoenix14k over this tank for the past few years (which was redic overkill), it does feel dim. when i ordered it, i was assuming i would have to run it at 50-75% to keep from nuking things but i run it full out @8" and still want a little more.

the light quality is amazing, lps and zoos look and do *amazing* under it, some of my sps looks good, but it feels like most want a little bit more. it could just be they are taking their time to acclimate, or it could be my water- evap and therefore the amount of kalk i drip as topoff has dropped like a rock, so i'm trying some 2-part to compensate.

i really like the shimmer, and being able to turn a knob for color is the best. being a tight point source, you don't get any discoball, but it also makes it so branches deep in a large sps colony don't get enough light. i have a large gold teardrop maxima on the sand that is still growing, but the color/pattern has faded significantly (i'm probably going to try to find a new home for it shortly).

i would buy it again in a heartbeat.

the A150W Ocean Blue works great for both growth and shimmer. The only thing is that you can't run any moon lighting unless you add supplement lighting.
If I Could do it all over again I would go with the 360W
