refractometer broke?

Here is a pic of my refractometer.. not sure why the rim is changing color.. anyone elses doing this?

Are you talking about the discoloration around the rim? I'm not seeing anything that is broken.

That looks like rust best I can see. That's what happens to metal around salt water.

If that's discoloration on the rim that's around the glass where you put the water to be tested, then I don't think anything is wrong.

ok so i shouldnt think anything of it.? i mean i dry it off after every use.

Start rinsing with tap water or better yet RODI water after each use. If you just dry it you may be leaving a little salt behind.
