Just wanted to see if others were using hydra 52 with t5, and if you are what color combo on t5 and what is your color percentages? Or is everyone happy with growth and color with just the H52s? My tank is a 190g 60x27x27.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/09/07/epuvebuq.jpg
Thanks for your help in advance!

There is a difference the 52's do a better job then the sol / t5 combo especially with my sps corals. Not sure why but it is about 20% better

I have never been able to post pictures, but if you send me pm with an email address or a txt number I will send you a couple of cell phone pics. As for the settings all colors start at noon and end at midnight the white channel 100 pm til 1100pm red 0 to 30% over 4 hour ramp then down ramp for 2 hours same with green except 25% the uv a 4 hour ramp then 2 hour ramp down for 2 hours. The white channel 3 hour ramp and 2 hour ramp down at 45% The blue / deep blue 4 hour ramp 2 hour ramp down at 75% the royal blue 4 hour ramp 2 hour ramp down to 2% then hold the 2% until 600am for moon lighting all off until noon the next day.

If you are just starting with the leds I strongly recommending using the acclimation processes supplied in the controller.

Very nice tank! I will he setting these lights up with the apex and thanks for the setting being 20k then 14 then 20 again. I like simple. I started with sols when the 1st came out and grew out a 65g http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/09/08/uqety8a3.jpg
And now I'm starting my 190g which I hope grows out as nice http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/09/08/ymape4e3.jpg
Thanks for the advice we all need some time to time. This tank will have 6 h52 over it and later I'll add 2 t5.

Probably a good idea, you'll most likely find you wont need the T5s, especially running 6 Hydra52s. I run 3 on my 150 at 85% max and it's more than enough!

I upgraded to a 300DD with 6 hydra 52's and 3x 4' T5's and 3x 2' T5's and its working well but for a more linear light coverage I am adding 3 more Hydra52's, this is not about intensity but rather even coverage.

May I ask where you got your T5 set up from? And what length are the bulbs?

Bump. I just added 2 T5s on either side of my hydra 52s over a 180. Anyone still using this method?

I previously ran three Hydra 26HD's with T5. Worked great for my SPS.

T5's will help. Adding blue+ bulbs is all you will need.

@Hentz wow! 4 mos! That's fantastic!

@reefcowboy yea I added a blue plus and a coral plus but I'm not diggin the white of the coral plus so yea I think another blue plus will look better.
