Transfer to new tank?

Hello all, I'm currently underway with my 75g rimless build and I was wondering how I should cycle it. I was thinking until I purchased my skimmer, I was going to let the tank cycle for 8 weeks but should I add water from my 20gl or rock? Pros cons? Also, I'll be using a different brand of salt if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance!

If you will be adding a bunch of new dry rock to the new tank then cycle it first then add any rock from old tank. If you are adding new fully cured live rock to the new tank then add it all at once and wait for mini cycle to complete.

Salt change shouldn't matter as much as SG level matching.

No need for skimming or other mechanical filtratuion during cycle.

No need for light either.

Yeah I'm getting 40lbs of dry then going to add some live as well.
