Hi, i am cycling a 65 gallon FOWLR tank and i have noticed white deposits where the water flows out from over the biowheel and on the edge of the glass infront. Its not anywhere else. What can it be ?
My ca (400) amonia, nitrates are normal, ph 8, salinity 1.024, but my KH was high at 20 .... help !

Salt deposits. As the water evaporates it leaves salt behind.

Given the high Kh could it be calcium deposits ? And any ideas on how to manage the high dkh with normal ph and cacium ?

I will post pics as soon as i am able to take one.

Putting this post together with the one you made on the chemistry board I'd say it is definitely calcium carbonate precipitation due to your alkalinity being through the roof. As stated over there, quit dosing alkalinity buffers and let the alk come down and you'll be in better shape.
