I'm headed there this winter and was wondering how the snorkeling/diving is.

Winter has rougher weather with more rain but it is not a "green island" so visibility will not suffer too much. Where are you staying? I have never stayed on the island but I have visited for the day. Have come over from the Brac which is a simple trip if the weather and seas are right. I flew in with some friends. I believe there are more options these days but it is pretty basic. Just the way I like it but some will get bored very easily.

Bloody Bay Wall is considered the finest wall dive in the western hemisphere. Wall starts in 7-10 feet of water and goes straight down. Some folks experience vertigo when they snorkel out from the wall. You will get rays and big fish. Currents vary from ripping to nothing depending on weather and tides. I made a beautiful night dive on the wall. It was a full moon and the corals were spawning. A great memory.

There is good diving all around the island but most of the time it is too rough except the lee side. Good luck and let us know how you like it.

It's been some years since I've been to Little Cayman. Some of the best diving in Caribbean, especially if you like walls. Snorkeling is also quite good, even a couple spots you can get beach access.

Thanks for the advice about the walls. I had not heard that. I'm staying at the Southern Cross club. I won the stay at a charity auction and didn't know much about little cayman when I bought it.

Haven't been to Little Cayman but I had to go to Cayman Brac for a week (had to go...as in work). Snorkeled every day. I found lots of grammas. Everywhere. They have always been me favorite fish and it was cool to see a colony on every coral big head. Lots of black triggers too. I was surprised to see blue porites in the shallows. One of the coolest SPS I've ever seen.
