I have a 45gl tall tank...
I only have 25lbs of base/live rock currently so not quite ready for fish.
I have 2 powerheads, a hotb filer, canister filter, heater and protein skimmer.

Im not sure what kind of fish I want however I do know I want a "badass" looking tank and possibly carnivorous fish. I dont need a whole bunch of fiah so long as the ones I do have look really cool. I was told I could have a fu manchu so id totally get one of those but would likely have to ship it in.
Any other suggestions?!
What would YOU put in it? :)
Open to allll suggestions

I've also been looking at aggressive fish like lionfish (fu manchu)

here's my thread on it. it might help you decide on what type of lionfish

Haha I read that one, I like the lion fish idea but I think I would really only want the fu manchu... they are cool.

I would think like a zebRa lion would get to big for a 45?

a fu manchu is also a lionfish. getting a lion will limit on everything else.. no shrimps, no smaller or equal sized fish.. you will also need an over sized skimmer.

I also really like gold stripped maroons. very aggressive clown, but looks bad ***

or a lightning maroon if u got 5000$ to spend on a fish ;)

for my current tank, I'm aiming for variety of colors...

Royal Gramma - Yellow, Purple
Firefish - White, Red
Clowns - Orange, White, Black
Flasher Wrasse - Red
YWG - Yellow

Sorry was mixing up with another thread if it's a 45 I would check out
Snowflake eel
Antennae lionfish

I wouldn't do fu manch as they are hard to keep

Engineer goby is easy and after 6 months or so it will look like an eel. I have 2 and they are about 4 inches long and look nothing like you would expect a goby. They are also cheap.

Don't put a snowflake in a 45, they will get 2 feet long when grown.

This is not very correct advice. They get two feet long but they are eels they bend and don't use much space for most of the time they will be in a crevice tank size is 30 plus gallons

I think it's 50 plus but I agree with what your saying

Sea and reef rep at macna said they will start offering lightning maroons for retail 400-700 so expect wholesale to be less than that.

2 waspfish
2 leaf fish
And a long spined sea urchin.
