My local Petco has these two nems labeled as gigs. They are selling them for 29.99 so if it is a gig, I'd like to make the commitment and pick one up. The first one is real big, probably about 9 inches across. The second one is only about 4 inches. I don't know what to look for when it comes to knowing if it is a true gig or not.
thanks,
Matt

Sometimes gigs can look like Haddoni. The nems in the pics missing the spots that a gig would have. Thus they are both Haddoni

Gigs have longer tentacles and their feet typically have prominent colored verrucae.

First thought Gig but lack of verrucae makes it a haddoni, still a great price

Gigantea have pastel color foot and red, green or purple verrucae (not brownish yellow). Just because it have spots does not guarantee that it is a Gigantea. S. helianthus also have spots but no pastel color foot and spots are brownish yellow.

A couple more telltale signs of a haddoni: the "trunk" or base appears wide in comparison to the oral disk (gigantea have a relatively narrow base) and red around the mouth -- I have yet to see a gigantea with red "lipstick."
