Just wanted to share photos of my new anemone. My LFS sent me an email and asked if I was interested in purchasing a nem they just received from a customer who had recently broken down his tank. It's a two-toned gigantea. Purple on the other edge, and some other color in the center -- hard to tell if it's blue or green:

It came out of an established tank, so there was no need for antibiotic treatment or a long quarantine. The tentacles remained elongated while at the LFS, on the trip home, and during acclimation into my tank. The siphonoglyphs were briefly exposed while in the bag, but once in my tank, its mouth quickly tightened up. It just goes to show the stark difference between a healthy gig and one that's been through the rigors of import.
It's hard to see the different colors in the photos under normal lighting conditions. Here's a photo with heavy blue LED. It accentuates the two different colors:

The gig is only about 7"-8" when fully expanded. I plan to feed it until it reaches about 12" (and kills the zoas/palys around it, they grow like weeds):

I've had it for one week, and my fingers are still crossed that it does well. However, all indications say it should be fine.
