I have a 200 gallon mixed reef tank with a 75gallon sump. I think its finally time to upgrade my skimmer. I have narrowed my choices to the Aquamaxx Em300 and the Aquamaxx ConeS Co-2. Which one do you think would be the better choice?
The em300 over the 2. The co-3 would be equivalent to the 300.

I think I am gonna go with the Co-3

I have a JNS SK2 and a Aquamax EM300 [the JNS is just like a Aquamax Cone 2]
IMO the cone is a little over rated. [JNS sk2] and closer to handling a well stocked 75 or med stocked 125. But the Cone-3 is likely a close match for your 200 mixed reef. Now the EM-300 can easily handle your 200 mixed. And is what I would suggest. Plus its less money than a Cone-3.
Well said!

I really appreciate the help, I am gonna cancel my order and get he em300
The co-3 and em300 have the same pump, gph, and lph of air. The co-3 is a slightly better skimmer without the pump being inside the body. Hybrid cone/full body design and more contact time. I've ran both designs (jns sk2/ em200) and the cone design is my preference. The em300 or co-3 would work great.

Here's my cones co3 on a heavy stocked 60 x 30 x 18 with 48 x 22 x 18 sump. I estimate total volume of 160 or 170g. This was close to 3 days worth.

Looks like it has been putting in work. Hopefully my EM300 does me some good. It's been a long time coming for me to upgrade
