Went back and forth on this being in the equipment forum, but given it is all about the reef parameter dosing, decided to keep it here.

I am using the e-bionic stuff, and have it dialed in now. About 50ML for 20-30 points. A few more weeks and I will be ready to automate.

Been researching the dosing pumps stuff, watched the BRS films. I am ok with simplicity and the timers. For $80/pump, it seems like a good deal. Do they work as well as advertised?

I have used the 1.1ml BRS dosing pumps for quite awhile with no issues.

Been using them for years, trouble free!

I've had two pumps for a couple of years. No problem.

How loud are these guys? I saw the part about a rubber mount. I mean, like a hammer drill? Or like a cordless drill at half speed?

Dead silent. I run three brs 1.1's. Never an issue...ever. Although my three are controlled via my apex, a timer shouldnt be a problem.

Only con on a "minute" timer can be expressed in my setup... I dose every hour via apex throughout the day, but for my setup I need to dose 1min 5secs every hour. So a basic timer for me would leave me short or over shoot my alk since I need that extra drop or two from the pump.

I would love the Pacific sun 5 channel dosing pump. It's basically a ato and 4 more chemicals you can dose for $450. By the time you buy 3 brs pumps and a ato you will end up spending more. I do run the brs pumps and haven't had a issue yet expect for my 50 ml one lasted 9 months but got a new one under warranty from brs. I hate all the timers you have to run for the brs it's kind of a pain they are huge and a 4 way outlet can only have one maybe 2 they are big timers but they can be programmed to go off 8x a day

I would not call mine dead silent, but they certainly are not loud.

I found some "second" timers out there, used for misting systems. Seem good enough, but they are not cheap, like $30 bucks for one port.
