View Full Version : Need help again. Brown weeds- Not ALGAE !!! good or bad

I have this brown "weeds" , they start to expand ,Does anyone has any idea/advice on them?
Should i remove them?
If yes, how?
What are those?

Colonial hydroids. Sort of cool looking, at least I think so, but definately of the pest variety. I just mechanically remove the colonies.

I haven't found aptasia-x to be effective against hydroids. Fortunately they form a hard calcareous tube which makes the colonies quite easy to mechanically snap off and remove.

Aptasia-x is for something else.
This things don't form any hard calcareous tube, they are just like weeds. They have roots which connects them and they spread around . Today a started to tweeze and siphon them out…we will see…..

As they age, they do. As I mentioned in your other post about this, kalk paste (small patches at a time) has worked well for me, when I was concerned about them.

Tried a lot of methods. Putting epoxy on top , "patching" was the only thing that worked.

kalk paste will work in killing them for sure, but manual removal is a good option after using kalk paste
