Hello everyone;
What will be the things that you all do to condition a fish only previous tank to be ready to keep corals and how long you think it will take in average?

Lighting will be the first thing to address. What kind of lighting do you have currently?

i think after making sure the sg, kh, ca and mg are o-k, you should be able to add corals pretty easily.(assuming no copper has ever been added)

Re-home any unsafe fish/inverts and make sure your mg, cal, and alk are at good levels. Be ready to dose. Check nutrient levels and correct if required. Lights should be acceptable depending on your rock work and goals.

I can not think of anything else...

thanks
Any supplements that are necessary to house LPS like acans alike?
I am dosing Ca, Alk and also phytoplakton.
My parameters are getting there
Ca 380
Alk 8
Nitrates at 10
PH 8
SG 1.023
I installed a new sump with miracle mod and have some chaeto on it
My guts tell me the tank is not ready for corals yet

You may want to test your mg and po4 as well.

How long has the tank been cycled?

I would increase salinity to at least 1.025, pref. 1.026.

The tank was a fish only tank with LR, it was already established for several years from the previous owner but not for corals.
I have it since May of this year.

It kind of depends on what type of corals you want to add. You could add most soft corals now, eventually moving to include LPS and SPS if that is what you want. Each type has different water and lighting requirements with soft being the least demanding.

I will like to start with some SPS montipora corals and maybe some Acans and maybe some LPS hammer heads, I guess what I am looking for is a kind of gauge to know when the tank is ready for corals other than soft corals.
maybe I just buy one a SPS montipora frag and then wait and see if it survives my tank conditions.

I would bump up Ca & try to drop the nitrates before adding spa corals.
