Nice. They don't seem to be as popular as before.

Rarely available... I guess because there are so many other angels out there?

I've read they don't ship/adapt well. That.... coupled with more subtle beauty.... probably makes them less popular.

Doesn't stop people from buying queens and emps :)

True but look what you end up with as a final product. Emps/queens/maculosus etc. tend to get better looking as they get bigger. Sextriatus just kinda looks the same at 5 inches and 15 inches. To my knowledge these guys get even bigger than the two previously mentioned species.

Check out this monster! There looks to be a bunch of full grown fish in this tank and the six bar makes em all look dinky.

Yeah, I agree, just poking a bit of fun at your comment ;)
I do find these guys attractive though, especially if you have the right lighting to make the blue accents/dots pop.

The sixbar is quite a bit larger than the queen and emp.

I really was just poking fun, but if you really want to get into the nitty gritty of things, I would argue, too many people buy known quite (read: very) aggressive queens and emps (wiki listed max sizes of 45cm and 40cm, respectively) than own sixbar angels (wiki max size of 46cm).
So, 1cm and 6cm differences? OK... I wouldn't call that quite a bit larger, especially when you factor in 'tude :D So all in all, I don't think adult size is the deciding factor of whether or not people own a sixbar angel.

On another note, check out this stunning wiki pic! Love the blue scale accents!

I think they are a handsome fish. A lot of subtle beauty kind of similar to an adult Koran. I believe the Waikiki Aquarium had one in their displays years back, which I always thought was neat.

that fish lasted all of (what) 6-8 hours on LA the other day.
Post/pic #17 is why...they are gorgeous fish, best wishes to whoever got it.

I've always like the euxiphipops subgenus because of their long pectoral fins.

Agreed! Pelvic, not pectoral ;)
And the extent of their dorsal and anal fins.... just beautiful!

Another one popped up on DD last night! Nice and small... I wish more fish I liked were so inexpensive :o

these fish are really beautiful but are seldom stocked, esp the juvis...
