What are your thouts on ushio 20k de bulbs..?

Love them, but I switch to Phoenix 14k DE. They are pretty much the same if u had already try them. I switch because they are cheaper too, not because of the quality!!

I tried one once but I found it was just too blue. I went back to 14k.

I'v been using phoenix 14 bulbs for years. I was think about going to 20k bulb in hopes to pull out more colors in my acro's... I use all Halides with no supplemental atinic lighting. i'm on the fence on wetther i should just keep using 14 k phoenix bulbs or if i should try 20k bulbs for a while..

The system I had the 20K on was a halide only system. I guess it comes down to personal opinion.

If you are happy with what you have now, but just want a little more colors out of your acros, couldnt you just get some cheapo ebay blue led strips to accent the colors you want? I would say get some actinics but it seems like you would have already done that so you must not want to have too much more over your tank.

I run 250w 14k pheonix double ended along with royal blue cree leds for actinics. I love the color I get for sure. I used the 20k ushio for a short time and cant remember the exact look but I definitely didn't like it as much so I switched back.
