Hi sorry for the english I am a Pilipino. Just want to ask anyone who are successful in vinegar dosing how long did you dose before you start seeing positive results specially in nitrate reduction? I am now dosing 70ml vinegar a day in a 120 gallon lps reef tank. I don't want to increase my dosing because from what I have seen in other forums 70ml is a lot for a 120 gal system. I have a light bio load and minimal feeding. My nitrates is at 20 and it is staying there for like a month now so i am not seeing results yet when can i expect my nitrates to go down?

Are you skimming heavily? What were your nitrates at before you started vinegar dosing?

Maintain the dosage and add special blend as directed on the bottle and wetskimming will do the trick

Welcome!

Took months for my 180 to get to zero NO3. But I started with only 45 ml per gallon of vinegar in KW and gradually pushed it to an additional 60 ml a day. Still did not eliminate GHA, but with wet skimming, aggressive GFO changes, water changes dedicated to removing GHA and detritus in sand/sump, Mexican turbo snails, reduced feedings, etc, I'm getting there.

Why the wet skimming? I'm getting some pretty nasty dark gunk with dry skimming. Is wet better?

Imo I really don't think wet skim vs dry makes a huge difference. But be sure the skimmer is effective.
In my 180 I also got to 60ml per day then I cut back to 30 mls to see no3 start dropping took about a week - took about 6 weeks to see big changes in no3 and po4.

I have since changed to aio bio pellets. And have not used gfo since

When I started vinegar dosing my nitrates is at 50. I did a 60% water change almost a month ago so my nitrates went down to 20. But it is still 20 right now it's not coming down and I had been dosing vinegar for 2 months now 70ml a day. Can I expect nitrate reduction soon?

Can try upping the dosage slightly. 20 ppm nitrates isn't bad, you don't want to strip all the nitrates from your system.
