I have a pair of skunk cleaner shrimp and one of them has an isopod. One shrimp has doubled in size and molts regularly. The one with the isopod hasn't grown at all in months and hasn't molted. It doesn't look too distressed but it's not as lively as my other shrimp so who knows.
Some anecdotal evidence on the internet says you can remove isopods from the gills with a pair of tweezers but there isn't much follow-up on how the shrimps do after removal. One person even mentioned dipping the shrimp in carbonated water to shock it and force the isopod to let go of its gills.
Does anyone have any advice or experience they would like to share? :uhoh3:
