Hello,
I am looking to build a 125 Gallon Reef from the bottom up!
Please give me suggestion, as I want to keep Acro/SPS.
I am not a n00bie but will be going from 29gallons to 125 gallons!

Please send any helpful info.
I am a fan of radions and vortechs and will use them for lighting and flow.

I'm setting up a new 120 now, so here is my equipment list:
Lights: 3 AquaIlluminations Hydra 52's for light. Two would probably do the trick, but I want good even light coverage so I'm going with three.
Pumps: Eheim 1262 return pump with a 1" Sea Swirl at the return end, two Vorteck MP-40's for powerheads.
Skimmer: AquaMaxx EM 200
Heaters: Two Eheim Jagger 300 watt heaters
Controller: Apex Neptune
Dosers: Two BRS dosers controlled by the Apex (calcium and alkalinity, I dose magnesium manually when needed, every other week or so).
Reactors: Two BRS reactors, one for carbon, one for GFO

Thats the bulk of the equipment.

3/4" Drains are a BAD IDEA. They are too small to be practical. 1" is the minimum. If you getting it made, go with (3) 1" drains and (1) 1" return and use a BeanAnimal drain setup.

Okay.
I will look into a bean animal drain set up.
I move out December 3rd so the project will start after that date.
Just need to do my homework for this upgrade from a 29 gallon ( not biocube ) to the 125.

I currently have a RKL. Is the apex that much better where I should sell my rkl and get the apex?

If you haven't got the tank yet, I prefer a 6ft to 4ft 125g. If you just want corals then 4' is fine but the fish, especially tangs and other active swimmers, will appreciate the longer length.

My only regret is that I didn't go straight to 180 for the 24" width. That'll be fixed w/ the 300-500g tank that is being planned into the retirement house.

Money is the main factor for me. 125gallon is my max for here and now.
