Anyone using A19 6500k bulbs on their main display? It seem they are now readily available and i wondered if anyone made a fixture using them.

I use a Philips 8.5W 5000K LED bulb (PAR30?) over my fuge. Grows cyano like crazy, but since it is my fuge, I don't care and the pods love it.

Oddly the fuge grows coraline readily and it is always a struggle to grow it in DT (which is also lit with LED).

6500k works great for macro algae but is not a great spectrum for displays or corals. It will grow a ton of algae in your display and corals won't thrive under it. It's also a very yellow light which isn't pleasing or complimentary to a salt water tank. You should be aiming for 10,000-20,000K with 15,000-20,000K being the visually preferred color range for a reef tank.
