So I know jawfish need at least 6" of sand, but deep sand like that can be an issue in enclosed systems. I have an idea.
Enclose an area with rockwork, like a box of rock, and fill that area with deep sand. Maybe an area about 1' square, full of bits of rubble and such. The rest of the tank would have sand about 2" deep. My logic is fairly simple; a jawfish, upon seeing that the sand is only 2" deep, will go somewhere else to burrow. Eventually he'll find his spot. Or maybe he'll notice the rubble in his sandbox and decide to go there.
Sound like it would work?
