I was looking at getting a Tunze Osmolator since I hear they are rock solid. Problem is I've got a 10 gallon tank sitting above my sump that I want to use as a reservoir for an auto top off system. Since the osmolator is a pump driven system, I'm thinking I'll end up siphoning the reservoir until its empty. Really what I need is a solenoid instead of a pump. Do they sell something like that?

Just run the top off line to your display, instead of into the sump. The overflow seems to be a fairly common and easily hidden spot.

So, the display tank is on the floor next to the sump. Its built into my desk.

I acttally think I might just use a gravity and float valve system. Eshops makes one with a mount.

Tunze makes a solenoid that is closed by default and opens when turned on.
