I have a green bubble tip anemone that is constantly closing up during the day. When my day lights are off and the actinics are on, it will open up and expose its tentacles. The anemone is small and the tentacles have shrunk, so I think its been hungry for a while. I do feed it mysis shrimp once a week which it gobbles down. I'm just wondering, why on earth would it close up during the day if its hungry and needs light? I read all over the place that these guys love light and need strong bright light, so then why would mine close up during the day?
My lights are Build My LED 14000K and 20000K lights that run 40 to 80% max with this schedule:
10 - 12 PM: 15-40%
12 - 4 PM: 40 - 80%
4 -7 PM: 80 - 40%
7 - 9PM: 40 -15%
Any suggestions?
