Hi All,

Wondering if this has happened to anyone here or what could cause it.

I have a Tunze 11,000l/h Silence pro 1073.110 that I am using as a return pump. Works fine 99% of the time, but periodically (once every 2-3months. It just drastically reduces the amount of water it pumps down to almost nothing.

There is nothing obstructing the intake as I have dual intakes (DIY) and covers on each end. The pump is still on but only pushing a very small amount of water. Last night my ATO alarm woke me up at 4am as the pump was not able to keep up with the return lines.

Simply switching the pump off and on fixes it, but it really shouldn’t happen.

I have pulled it apart and cannot find any damage or wear and tear.

Any feedback would be welcomed

Thanks

I'd call or email them. A pump that expensive should never do that. My eight week old 1073.040 will soon be back in service as a backup pump. I'm waiting on the warranty replacement for the cracked, and corroding, impeller unit. Drive unit, I think they call it.

Have since been in contact with Tunze Australian wholesaler and apparently there was a know electrical fault with a batch of pumps produced about 18months ago (Early-Mid 2013) as mine is a year old it fits with the timeline.

Have offered to replace the pump free of charge.
Getting it dropped off at my lfs and swapped over :)
