You don't know what you will get, but you can google images of fiji rock. You will need to cycle it, but when it is done it will be very ready to do it's job as a filter.

A third of my live rock is LA Fiji. I thought the rock was really good. To be fair this was many years ago so I don't know how their current source is.

Have bought bout 8 years ago. Decent rock not a lot of growth on it. Just dosent survive good shipping and have to recycle for sure. I love the dry rock now wouldn't buy live again
Unless from someone's local established tank. The BRS dry is awesome very light & porus.
Seems like you get a lot more for cheap & no pest! Others on market are very nice too.

Got 90 lbs last week. It was great!! Smelled cured already. No pests after a 1.04 dip.
Good color. Good shapes.

Once you cure this LR from the ocean, it will be where dry rock will be in a year or two as a filter. The coralline will grow on both equally well, but the good stuff is the phosphate free calcium carbonate and bacterial beds.

:fish1: Hi jda, yes dry rock in a year or two will have the same bacteria for filtering as cured live rock from the ocean, but there is lot more to live rock than bacteria and unless the dry rock is seeded with a very high quality live rock it will never have the rest of the life associated high quality live rock. :fish1:

Here is mine 90 lb of Fiji rock from LA, I am very happy with it. With shipping cost me less then $4 a pound. I got huge 4 pieces and 4 smaller two of them are flat that I put in between to make caves.
