Hey guys,

Been watching my Crosshatch Trigger pair on a network cam today.

They've been in the tank a few days and the male is doing something weird.

In the same place he'll get about 2-3 inches off of the bottom of the glass and bolt towards the bottom with his mouth. Looks pretty violent...

Is he seeing his reflection and attacking it? Is this bad for the fish?

Will he stop over time?

Could this be something else? Also seems like it's only in the same area of the quarantine tank as well...

Here's a really bad video...

Sorry, try opening in YouTube and making the screen larger...

What do you think?

Is there a chance he's flashing his face/mouth against the tank floor?
If not, he's probably attacking his reflection.

Not really sure only seen over cam. He acts fine when I'm in the room.

Think he'll be fine? Will he stop over time?

Maybe I should move some PVC on top of the area he is attacking?

He is not attacking anything

The fish just scratching on the white tube. Consider start treatment

if he was scratching it would not always be at the same spot, he would be all over the tank scratching, its always a good idea to paint the bottom and at least 2 sides of your QT in black

for now i would maybe just add a few pieces of pvc or some egg crate on the bottom to see if it stops the behavior

IMO, although the clip quality , you can see that the fish is suffering from some kind of Bacterial infection or ich
