So I come home today and someone in the house has put half a large pot of flake and quarter a large pot of solid food in my tank. There was solid food all on the bed and all in the sump. I have sucked most out. The protein skimmer is going crazy and the fish don't look too happy. What should I do and what should I expect to happen next, loss of life?

Do a water change, i'd say 25% . This shoudl help remove some of the crap that has gotten into the system.

massive water changes..

use a turkey baster and manually siphon the solid food out. run some filter socks to catch all the crap.

prepare a bottle of PRIME on hand. use immediately if you detect ammonia

I would supplement by blowing the rock out with a powerhead or if your tank is smaller, a turkey baster. But yea, use a big WC to suck a bunch of the crap out and then run your numbers a couple hours later. Might take a couple days to get consistent readings.

Been a while now and all levels are good. Thanks guys. Still no luck on finding the culprit though.
