I'm in the middle of a stand swap and want to raise my skimmer by adding two cement bricks. This okay? Thanks.

Sump is split 60/40 by a single 10 inch divider. Probably too high?

i wouldn't suggest using bricks. You never know what's in them and you can't really fine tune your height. 1/4" up or down makes a big difference in skimmer performance. I would suggest some egg crate and PVC legs that you can zip tie to the egg crate. You can get the egg crate from Home Depot or Lowes in the lighting section.

Agreed. It's pretty easy to work with and relatively inexpensive.

Okay. Thanks. The egg crate won't float off with the pump on it I guess?

Nope, my skimmer and box has not floated anywhere. Should be good to go. [emoji106]

Not sure why your set on using bricks or stones. Make a stand of egg crate like mentioned or acrylic would be even better

No, Not OK! Cement will leach all kind of nasties into your tank. Use the egg crate as suggested, cheap, easy, and does what is needed with no side effects.

I use a marine pure block that's 4" thick. They can also be bought in 1" thickness. This way you can have great biological filtration, sitting under your mechanical filtration. No wasted space. My nitrates went down from 80 to about 0 using the marine pure block.

Stop yelling at me guys! Lol. Read a thread where a guy has used it and it's an easy lazy fix. I'll do egg crate thanks. Vertex recommends 6-8 inches of submersion, so if the partition is 10 inches, just a 3-4 inch high crate i guess.

Thanks again.
