I have just introduced a Royal Gramma to the mix of livestock in my DT. The female OC Clown immediately started chasing the RG all over the tank. For a few minutes the chase was on until the RG found a hiding place in the rocks. This never happened when I introduced my purple firefish after the clowns. I have read that clowns get along with RGs and vice versa. Will this aggression persist??
Thanks

Is this in the 56 gallon tank? Because the RG is close in body shape to the clowns they tend to be more aggressive towards them than a firefish which they see as less of a threat. I suspect the RG will find a small area to call its own, but clowns generally stake out about a 30 gallon area as their own so it doesn't leave much room for your RG. Things should settle down in a couple of days, but I would guess the clowns will never give the RG free access to the entire tank, just a small area.

+1. I have two OC clowns in a 55. One midnight, and one black and white. The midnight doesn't do much, however, that black and white runs that tank. He chases, and harasses every last damsel, even when they're shoaling. He's fearless, and awesome. I'm pretty sure Micheal Vick would love this fish! haha. We've got to remember that while they are cute and innocent looking little guys, they are still damsels. It's just the nature of the fish.
