Hey guys,

So for the past year my tank's been a FOWLR. Because of this the main show has been my fish and the scape of the rocks, which I've tried to arrange in an aesthetically pleasing way.

As I move into the coral reefing side of things I'm realizing that my scape is too vertical and too high for the easy placement of coral.

I have included some pictures. Can you give me some suggestions on what to do with my rocks to merge from the LR being the center of attention to corals taking center stage?

The tank is a 6g fluval edge with one small clown and one astrea snail.

I think once you start adding coral and they start to cover your rock scape, the corals will naturally become center of attention. I would just leave it be, it's nice looking but will be an afterthought with some nice corals in there.

+1 Tang

It looks nice man I would leave it. It looks very natural and you have a large footprint there.

One thing I would do is move that rock that's in the back to the front right under the tallest peak so there is not so much drop off. I would also angle it to the front of the tank to give it a little more 3 dimensional look.

Edit: I'm not saying fill in your arch but place it just to the right of the arch.

Thanks guys. This is helpful. So you're saying put the rock I'm the back right in front of the rock to the right of the arch? (Let's say we're facing the front of the tank when we mention directional words :))

Ooh maybe you mean like place it on the substrate in front/right of the arch?

Well what I meant is you have a high point just to the right of the arch and then its like a sheer face which kind of takes away from your footprint. If that is indeed a separate rock in the back I would move it just in front of that sheer face and right up against it. Angle it so the longest portion is pointing towards the front of the glass or maybe curved to the left you just want it to look like it has layers kind of 3 dimensional.

Edit added a horrible paint example of placement and direction of the rock.

Gotcha. It is indeed a separate rock. That's what I was thinking you meant! I will try it out. Thanks!!
