I Got a fish that haf popeye. I used APIs Furan2. The package says that it does not effect biological filtration. My fish started to dying. I changed 30 gallons of 200 gallons, added .5 pounds of carbon, prime and niteout bacteria. This happened 3 days ago. I am doing another 30 gallons now.
My ammonia is around 5 and my nitrites are over 5. 5 is the highes my test kit does. It is an API test kit. What should I do.

First. Take a breath. It's going to be OK!
Now, continue with water changes, and add some more nitrifying bacteria (BioSpira, MicroBacter7, Dr. tims, etc). Do 30 gallons a day until you see improvements.
Finally, never treat a fish in a display tank. Set up a hospital tank. You may have killed inverts that were sensitive, or some other life form. It caused a die off, and now your tank is toxic. Hang in there, we have all been there!

How long for everything to cycle again? I have been leaving my fuge light on 24/7.

No way to know. Could be a day, a week or 6 weeks. All depends on how fast you get the toxin out, and how big of an impact it had on the biodiversity of your tank.

I saw a dead hermit crab, 2 dead yellow stingrays. 1 yellow ray is less active and doesn't look great but is looking better and a little more active. I have no coral. My eel, grouper and damsel are acting weird. Hiding not not active. Clownfish loving life and acting like he normally does. Some inverts are moving. I saw a bunch of bristle worms and stuff blow away when I moved my powerhead. I think they were dead.
I haven't feed in 3 days to reduce the amount of ammonia. I am planning on not feeding until ammonia is 0. Is this a bad idea?

All of that in a 200?

Its actually a 220. It's 6 fish. Yellow stingrays grow to 12 inches, my miniatus grouper 12in, snowflake 2.5ft and damsel 3 in. These are average size of a full grown adult, not their actual size in my tank.
Do you really think I am overstocked?

6 large fish that eat a lot? What do you feed and how often?

I feed about 5 days a week. Mostly hakari or nls pellets, I put vitachem in every so often. Once a week I will feed rods frozen. Twice a week I feed mazuri shark and ray gel formula with the pellets.

How effective is prime at neutralizing ammonia? Will ammonia still show up in a test? Should I double dose? Can I put to much bottled bacteria in my tank?

Sorry to hear about your issues.. Lots of water changes and fresh activated carbon will help. You might even add a poly filter pad to your sump.
In my experience, pop eye is best to let heal on it's own without medication. Good feeding is usually a good thing to help it heal. It's often caused by getting stung by another fish. I would have asked if you had a rabbit fish or lion fish but seeing that you have 2 sting rays, my guess is that your pop eyed fish had a run in with one of those. It can also be caused by gas bubble disease which I don't think is the case here.
That said, Furan 2 is used more for bacterial infections and I wouldn't think it would be a suitable treatment for pop eye to begin with.

Don't get carried away with dosing this and dosing that. You will cause more issues. Water changes are your friend. I've used Amquel with good success in reducing ammonia before in recommended dosages but like I said, water changes should help a lot in bringing those levels down. Just be sure to match the temperature of the new water so you don't create a temperature spike up or down as that will cause additional stress that will lead to further problems.

How effective is prime at neutralizing ammonia?
Very.
Will ammonia still show up in a test?
YES
Should I double dose?
NO - unless you're within the "emergency" recommendation with what the bottle has printed on it. Otherwise,no.
Can I put too much bottled bacteria in my tank?
NO, however, putting in too much is a waste of $

I did a 30 gallon water change all my fish look much better. They are begging for food and water looks real clear.
I am going to hold off on feeding good or bad?
The stingray is acting much better but has signsnof ammonia burn. It is red on the edges. I am assuming there is not much I can do except water changes. I am mixing up 30 more gallons for tomorrow.

Feed as much as they'll eat, vacuum up the un-eaten food. That'll help get their immune systems back on track
