Been setup since Feb 2014. See equipment and livestock in signature. I also have a large African Midal Blenny and a Chromis chillin in the QT.
Things are going slowly but very well. No major mishaps...starting to think about lighting and leaning toward reefbreeder photon 24.
I believe our DTs are a unique size/shape so I'd love to hear from fellow 56ers including progress, livestock, lighting, coral etc. I'd love to start keeping some LPS once I get the lighting settled.
Please include some pics if you can!!!
Pigpen17? still out here?

Haha! Yes I am!
Love this tank! It's the height and width of a 90 or 100 gallon, but in a 30" footprint. Very dramatic looking. I always get a lot of "oooowww's" and "Ahhhhhhh's"
We are very similar in equipment. The Aquamaxx is my next upgrade. I have the cash. Not sure what I'm waiting on.
I just got the Reefbreeder Photon 24. For the price, it's a damn good light. I'm still dialing it in as far as light cycle and power. The daylight was a bit on the purple side for me at first, but I got used to it and now I can't go back. The low lights and moon lights are gorgeous. I went back and forth between the Photon and the Maxspect Razor. I have no idea about the light itself, but the Razor has the smooth ramp up and also a feet option. Both are a plus above the Photon.
Things are going well, but I am in the middle of a huge battle with Green Hair Algae. What was a small problem has gone wild with my new lighting. Other than that, a very stable tank with happy fish.
Notable Livestock is:
Midas Blenny and three Caribbean Blue Reef Chromis, plus a Serpent Star and a Porcelain Anemone Crab. My only coral is a Xenia I have on a lone rock. My next purchase is going to be a Birds-nest.
Here's the tank. It's about 9 months old.

The Crab and Xenia Island. Kind of a showpiece of the tank.

I have some photos of my new light, but I can't find them here at work. I'll post them tonight. Here's with my old light.

I love the dimensions of the 56 column. Nice looking tanks.
Back when I had one it was planted:

Wow! Great looking tank.
Yeah, the volume of water is just huge. The 30" length is somewhat limiting, but the overall volume seems much greater than a 55.
