It looks small, but I wouldn't want anything that could grow. 220 gallons of water crashing throughout a house would be ugly.

I agree, the risk is not worth the savings.

That is pretty high for a cracked tank. I wouldn't take it.

I too would pass. If he currently had water in it, I might think about it, but not worth the risk.

A week is not a long time IMO.
I would not want to give it a try.

If this is the chip you are talking about, I'm going to play devils advocate here and say that's nothing. It looks completely superficial on the outside edge of the pane and not structural at all.

Where is the tank located? If you don't want it and it's near me I would buy it.

I have worse on my tank. That's nothing I bet most have worse on their tanks also. It looks like a little ding.

At the very least I think you should haggle with them. I'm still not sure I would buy it personally, I'm sure their right, but it would make me paranoid about "what if".

Looks fine to me. I've had bigger. You could have a glass shop grind it out to relieve any stress and give you their professional opinion. Offer $200 that is a $1000 tank.

That doesn't look like something I'd worry about, other than the obvious cosmetic issue.

You could take it to a car glass place. These days they repair chips larger than that without replacing the windscreen. Very low cost when it's a car. I doubt it would be a problem in any case.

It's a chip not a crack, buy it and giggle like a school girl with all the money you saved.
